The Karuna School is a global, life-long-learning classroom that educates the mind, and awakens the heart of each student. Our students represent a lifetime of ages and developmental stages. Planetary Dharma lives within the Karuna School and has created a curriculum that views life in its totality and in its unique phases and stages.
When we fully turn towards the truth of what’s going down on this planet, we find there is a real need for a deeper commitment to Right Living that is grounded in the developmental journey, held in an integral meta-modern context, and informed by the Perennial wisdom of the Human Tradition.
We are being asked in this moment to respond with skillful means, and build an educational transmission system for sacred and cultural knowledge that recognizes the urgent time that we live in, and moves beyond the idealization of a single path or teacher to a model that draws upon the collective intelligence of a teaching cohort and the co-creative participation of the Community. In other words, we really need to work together and bring Karuna Mandalas clarity from the realm of ideas, and into the realm of earthly manifestation. Into the form of a school.
What if? What if self-awareness, compassion, and conflict resolution was a norm in our learning culture? And especially for the younger generations. Can you imagine an integral organization designed to be a living, learning organism that integrates the best of organizational development and biomimicry? An intelligent organization that is actively searching to become aware of the shadow processes it generates, and that is willing to explore not just the spiritual and psychological frontiers but also is engaged in important social action projects, aligning itself with the future of money, building a high school for the next generation, and creating a village for cultural research and contemplative retirement? Can you see that? We need boots on the ground. Dharma Warriors to step out of the haze and take the baton as far as they can.
Humans have an innate capacity for life-long learning, and are developmentally set up for natural unfolding. As our civilization reaches a boiling point of uncertainty and necessary transformation it is vital that we re-examine our core beliefs around the values that orient our lives. Mother nature is screaming at the top of her voice for us to shift from a consumer society to a learning society. Technological growth has for centuries out paced our ethical and psychological development, and we’ve got to address this not just in our talk, but how we live our lives.
